Just Don't Feel Like Praying?

You might be wondering if there's a typo in the title of today's Sainthood Snippet.

Hmmm...'Dark Night of Sense?'

Shouldn't that be 'Dark Night of the Soul,' Matthew?

I make as many typos as the next guy, but this isn't one of them.

The Dark Night of the Soul is a well-known spiritual state - a feeling of desolation and spiritual abandonment that God uses to purify us as we make our way along the path to holiness.

But the Dark Night of Sense actually comes first - in the earlier stages of our spiritual growth.

And though it's not as intense as the Dark Night of the Soul, it is crucial to know what it is, and what to expect when it happens.

That's because it can mean the difference between slipping into lukewarmness…and taking a giant leap into the next stage of your spiritual development.

In today’s Sainthood Snippet, I’ll explain how to test whether you’re actually experiencing the Dark Night of Sense - and what to do to make your way through it.

God bless!

Matthew
